  Born in 1941, Kamal Hadker completed his Bachelor of Engineering Degree from the University of Mumbai in 1963. After working under the guidance of his father, Mr. N. B. Hadker, for two years, he proceeded to London, UK to acquire first-hand experience of working for British firms of Consulting Engineers. In 1967 he was elected as an associate member of the Institution of Structural Engineers, London, UK. He returned to India in 1968 and joined the rapidly expanding practice of M/S Hadker Prabhu and Associates.

In the years that followed, he was actively involved in the structural design of prestigious high-rise buildings and major sports complexes in the country as well as abroad. His innovative approach to design and constant search for efficient structural solutions secured him an excellent reputation. Kamal Hadker has distinguished himself in the design of some of the country’s most prominent landmarks. Some of these are - The Bombay Stock Exchange, The ICICI Building in Mumbai, Public Utility Building in Bangalore, MRF Headquarters in Madras, The Andheri Sports Complex and the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and the IFCI Building in New Delhi.

For the Asian Games held in New Delhi in 1982, he led a team of structural designers for the prestigious Indira Gandhi Stadium and other surrounding structures. This Stadium, which is the largest clear-span roof in Asia and third largest in the world, was designed and built in a record period of 27 months.

Kamal Hadker has gained valuable experience with International Architects such as WATG, SOM, RTKL, JPA etc who have worked on Indian Projects. With an ability to understand client expectations and to deliver quality buildings on time and within budget, Kamal Hadker has secured a broad client base.

  A 1990 graduate, Dr. Deepali completed her Degree in Architecture from L. S. Raheja School of Architecture in Mumbai. She then went on to pursue her doctorate in Space Structures from the University of Surrey in Guildford, UK.

From 1993 till 1996 she worked at an architectural practice in Central London. She worked on several Commercial, Industrial and Residential projects in UK. Dr. Deepali also lived and worked in Toronto, Canada for three years where she was employed by Chairman Mills Inc. She designed Exhibition Layouts for International Trade fairs and Exhibitions.

In Dec 2000 Dr. Deepali joined her father’s firm in Mumbai and now, she is now a Director at Sterling Engineering Consultancy Services Pvt. Ltd. Her responsibilities include managing all HR practices within the organization. She heads all administrative functions within the company. She is actively involved in all Finance and Quality Control Policies in the company. Dr. Deepali also actively writes for leading engineering magazines about the latest and innovative projects completed by Sterling. In 2003 Dr. Deepali completed her MBA in Family Managed Business from the S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai.

Dr. Deepali’s special interest has been in Tensile Structures. She continues to lecture and conduct workshops for Tensile structures in various architectural schools and colleges. She has also written articles for leading architectural magazines on Tensile Structures.

  Nagendrakumar is our Resident Director at the Bangalore Branch Office. He has been responsible for successfully completing a number of projects in Bangalore and Madras in the last two decades. A 1976 graduate from the University of Mysore, Nagendra joined the services of Hadker Prabhu and Associates soon after he completed his Masters Degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai in 1978.

He worked on several interesting projects like Industrial Structures for Mukund Iron and Steel Works, Apartment buildings in Bombay like "Pratibha", the Indira Gandhi Stadium and the Hotel Complex at Indraprastha Estate, New Delhi.

Since1983, he is the Resident Director in-charge of our Bangalore Office – where he leads a team of engineers and draftspersons. Some of the interesting projects which he has handled are the Raheja Towers, Manipal Centre, Brigade Towers, Prestige Meridian I and II, Skyline City, Golden Enclave, Verifone Software Technology Park at Bangalore, National games village at Bangalore, Willingdon Enclave at Cochin, Raheja Towers at Madras and Coimbatore, Sterling Square, Prestige Towers, Corporate office for SmithKline Beecham, Raheja Paramount Bangalore. Industrial Projects also include the Factory Building for B.F.W., Wipro Information and Technology at Mysore, Ceramic Plant for Widia, Keonics city in Electronic City, Corporate Facilities for Wipro, Software Development Centres for M/s. Infosys Technologies, at Bangalore and Pune, GE India Technology Centre at Bangalore.

He is a member of Institution of Engineers (India) and Fellow Member of Association of Consulting Civil Engineers India.

  Girish Dravid graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, in the year 1981 and continued his studies in Structural Engineering at the same institute to complete his Post-graduation in Structures in 1983. He joined Sterling Engineering Consultancy Services Pvt. Ltd. in 1983 and has worked on several challenging projects

Girish has excellent leadership qualities and successfully heads the Borivali branch of the organisation. He has handled projects of diverse nature such as power distribution facilities, steel plants, chemical industries, pharmaceutical establishments, commercial and multipurpose complexes, high-rise buildings like the Magnus Towers for K. Raheja Corporation, five star hotels like the ITC Grand Maratha Sheraton, Sahar, Mumbai and the ITC Grand Central, Lower Parel, Mumbai as well as the Four Seasons Hotel, Mumbai.

His experience covers designing major projects outside India as well. Fluent in both RCC and Steel structures, he has also gained experience in working with GRC and composite structures. With a strong aesthetics sense and understanding of structures and architecture, Girish is innovative and ready to experiment with modern construction techniques.

  Mr. S. B. Malekar is the most experienced engineer in the company. Born in August 1940, he is a 1963 graduate of the University of Mumbai with an excellent academic record. He has attended special training courses in The Design of Machine Foundations, Earthquake Resistant structures, Design of tall buildings, Design of offshore structures and Design of large panel precast houses. He is a member of the Institution of Engineers, India and Maharashtra India Chapter of ACI.

Over the last four decades, he has gained valuable experience while working with large companies like M. N. Dastur and Company and Development Consultants Ltd. He was posted in Venezuela for 3 years to work on a prestigious steel plant design assignment. He also worked for Hindustan Construction Company for 7 years as their Chief Engineer. His specialization includes Power Plants, Fertilizer Plants, Steel Plants, Electrical substations, H V D V Projects, Water and Sewage Treatment Plants, Workshops and Warehouses, Coal and Ash Handling Plants. He has worked on several Stadia, Swimming Pools and Auditoriums, Sport Complexes, Steel and Concrete long span bridges, Jetties, Slipways and Cargo Births, Pharmaceutical Plants, Residential buildings, Office buildings, Reservoirs and Tanks, Pipe and Cable Bridges and Tall R.C.C. Chimneys.

While working with Sterling, he has been actively associated with the MVHT Hospital Project and the Reliance Infocom Project as well as the IMAX Dome which is the largest IMAX Screen and Dome in the world. He has recently completed the large corporate park for Piramal Holdings at Lower Parel called Peninsula Corporate Park and has completed work on large warehouses for ITC where he was associated with the design of more than 30 warehouses across India.

He has personally trained and guided junior and senior engineers to develop structural designs and details in R.C.C. and structural steel. A sincere, hardworking and diligent engineer, Mr. Malekar is the Head of the Training Division at Sterling.
 
     
  SUNIL R. GOREGAONKAR

  A graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai in the year 1975, Mr. Goregaonkar’s contribution has been immense in the past thirty years. He has completed the structural design of several projects such as the multistoried buildings - Maker Chambers V and VI. He has also designed several Hotel Projects like the Dona Sylvia resort in Goa, the Leela Beach Hotel, Goa, and the Chalet Hotels in Powai, Mumbai. He worked on the renovation of the Essar Towers in Mumbai. He was also associated with the structural design of the Madgaon railway station project with architect Charles Correa.

Recently, he has completed the design of the 38 storied Rushabh Apartments in Mumbai as well as the Paradigm Office Complex for K. Raheja Corporation. Presently he is working on several projects in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai where the firm has been appointed as structural design engineers.
 
     
  PRAMOD SAHASRABUDDHE

  Pramod graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai in the year 1981. He completed his postgraduation from the same institute in the year 1983 with specialisation in structures and subsequently joined Sterling in the same year.

Pramod has worked on several interesting projects amongst which are The NRI housing scheme at Nerul, Wholesale and Vegetable Market at Vashi, Sports Complex at Andheri, Turbhe Railway Station and the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. He also has a wide range of experience in designing various kinds of industrial structures. Pramod’s strengths have been computer aided structural design and his problem solving capabilities.

  After graduating from the GIT College of the University of Karnataka, Manish Negandhi joined Sterling engineering as a Design Engineer in 1999. Manish has handled many important projects. His responsibilities include preparing different structural schemes and alternatives for Clients and suggesting economical and viable structural arrangements. He has been coordinating with Clients, Architects, Services Consultants and Site staff to ensure timely completion of all major projects handled by him.

Manish is proficient in the use of analysis packages like STAAD-PRO and ETABS. He has designed tall residential buildings, corporate office buildings, commercial buildings, and hospitals. Some of the major works completed by Manish are the Civil Hospital in a highly seismic zone in Bachau and Rapar, Gujarat, BUSINESS SQUARE office buildings at Andheri, Mars Commissary at Marol, Multi-storeyed Car-park and Shopping Mall at Nariman Point, Residential buildings at Girgaum, a 37 storey tower for Angarika Investments, Rushabh – a 25 storey tower at Girgaum, Paradigm - office building for K. Raheja Corporation at Malad, Office complex at Bandra-Kurla complex for Maker group, Drive-In-Theatre and Entertainment Center at Bandra-Kurla Complex for Maker Group. Manish is a good team player and has excellent leadership qualities.

Mr. Vinayak Naik completed his B.Tech.(Civil) in 1974 and M.Tech.(Structures) in 1976 from I.I.T. Mumbai. After post graduation, he worked with reputed engineering firms from 1976 to 1980. During the above period, he gained valuable experience in analysis and design of R.C.C. and Steel Industrial Plants, multi-storey buildings, machine foundations etc. After 1980 he started a partnership firm “Seattle Consultancy Services” wherein he specialized in the design of pre-stressed concrete bridges, silos, bunkers and developed computer programs for their designs.

In addition, he also developed programs for the analysis of multi-storey buildings. He was also deeply involved in the development of PLANWIN/FRAMEWIN software package used widely for the analysis and design of multi-storey building structures. He also gained considerable experience in the computer analysis of various structural problems such as rafts on elastic foundation, dynamic analysis of multi-storey buildings, machine foundations, shells and folded plate roofs and overhead water tanks using finite element technique. Over the years, he has designed number of ROB’s, fly-overs (a notable example is the Dadar T. T. flyover in Mumbai, Winner of Special Award by Indian Institute of Bridge Engineers for Year 2000), mass housing projects, tall buildings, cement plants, sewerage pumping stations, Loco car sheds for Railways (Precast / Prestressed), subways (a notable example is CST subway, Mumbai). He joined Sterling in 2010. Since then he has been working on many prestigious projects like the Kohinoor Square in Dadar, Oberoi Commercial Tower in Goregaon, Multi-storeyed buildings in Dadar (East), Nitesh Mall in Bangalore and many others. He has also been associated with the Peer Review of several large projects.
